16-19 July, Benicassim, Spain

Sick of the British climate ruining your festival experience? Then why not head abroad to Europe’s hottest music festival – Benicassim! Situated between Barcelona and Valencia this four -day extravaganza is a truly amazing experience. This year’s even has a line up you just won’t believe: Oasis, Kings of Leon, Franz Ferdinand, Paul Weller, Glasvegas, Friendly Fires, Late of the Pier, Lily Allen, The Killers, White Lies, Calvin Harris, Elbow, Maximo Park, Pete Docherty, The Horrors and the Mystery Jets – need we go on?
Not only that, because the festival runs between 6pm and dawn, you can lie on the beach all day without missing any of your favourite bands! A full four-day camping pass will actually get you nine days’ camping, though at the time of writing these have sold out. Check www.ebay.com and www.seatwave.co.uk for any last-minute tickets, but expect to pay a bit more than the original £160! Mbr /> www.benicassimfestival.co.uk is an unofficial site set up by British fans of the festival, and is full of tips and insider knowledge. Many fans advise against camping, as sleeping under the Spanish sun is rather uncomfortable! Book early to get a hotel. Flights are cheap, many costing about the same as a train fare across the UK. Go to www.skyscanner.net to check out prices.
END OF TERM AT BENICASSIM! It’s a hard job, but someone’s got to do it – yes, we’re attending this year’s Benicassim in order to bring you the highlights of what we believe will be the best festival of the year. To find out more, make sure you get your hands on our Autumn 2009 issue after the summer holidays! |
